Camila Cabello appeared for the last time with her girl group, Fifth Harmony, on ABC’s holiday special, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.
Camila Cabello entered 2017 performing her final show with her girl group, Fifth Harmony, on ABC’s holiday special, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. The New Year Eve event was hosted by Ryan Seacrest, who introduced the Fifth Harmony performance.
Fifth Harmony announced Dec. 19 at midnight on their official Twitter profile that Camila Cabello is leaving Fifth Harmony. The post was signed by Ally, Normani, Dinah and Lauren saying: “After four and a half years of being together, we have been informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony. We wish her well. You Harmonizers have been there with us since the beginning, you have supported us, you have rejoiced and cried with us, you have grown with us, and with your love and support, we will continue on. That being said, we are excited to announce that we will be moving forward with the four of us – Ally Brooke, Normani, Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui for our fans. We are for strong, committed women who will continue with Fifth Harmony as well as our solo endeavors. We are excited about our future and we can’t wait for what the new year brings.”
The performance looked like a reunion, or sudden change. Fifth Harmony performed three songs on New Year’s Eve, and the group had a blast like in the old times. However, even though that vibe on performance was outstanding, the band will soon see Camila Cabello leaving. The news about disbanding was a surprise to both the Fifth Harmony girls and their fans.
Days before the group announced the Camila is leaving the group, Fifth Harmony revealed they are working on their third album for Billboard. But the album and any other future Fifth Harmony’s plans will have to carry on without a fifth member, Camila Cabello.
Anyway, Camila Cabello’s fans do not have to worry about her leaving the group. Although she won’t be part of the Fifth Harmony anymore, Camila’s statement implies that she will be working on her solo career this year:
“Next year I will be working on my own music and giving you a big chunk of my heart. To our amazing fans, I will always be so thankful for the opportunities being in this group has given to me. I am even more thankful for the times that we’ve gone to get frozen yogurt together and talk about music, for the times we’ve locked eyes during a lyric, for the hugs that put pieces back together in both of us, for more love than I can put into words, for showing me the way to myself,” said Cabello.
The final performance was televised and we hope you all enjoyed watching the pre-taped performance of their hit song “Work From Home” at the Billboard Hollywood Party.
