Microsoft has released details about its 2017 E3 press conference. Starting with a change in tradition, Microsoft’s press conference will be held on Sunday, June 11, starting at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET. Their press conferences are usually held on the Monday of E3 week.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer recently spoke about the games that will be at the press conference. Spencer says that this year’s press conference won’t be shooter focused with big Microsoft franchises like Halo and Gears of War absent from this year’s E3. Spencer also said that the conference would feature “new experiences with different IP”.

Project Scorpio, Microsoft’s newest hardware rumored for launch this holiday, is reportedly getting a huge reveal at the press conference.

Microsoft’s marketing manager, Aaron Greenberg, Xbox’s FanFest is coming back for this year’s E3 with more details coming soon. Microsoft’s FanFest event is a fan-focused event used to celebrate fans with special events.

Microsoft is the only publisher so far to announce their E3 plans.

The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is an annual trade show for the video game industry that is run by the Entertainment Software Association. The event features the industry’s biggest publishers bringing a slew of new game announcements, updates on the industry, and glimpses of the future of the industry.

The Entertainment Software Association announced on Feb. 8 that E3 will be open to the public this year for the first time according to Gamespot. Tickets will go on sale on Feb. 13, 2017. 15,000 tickets will be available priced at $150 only for Feb. 13 with the price going to $250 after that. Expo passes (standard passes) provide access to the show floor, panel discussions, and other events from Tuesday through Thursday of E3 week. Business passes are also available, which features access to the VIP lounge, catered breakfast and lunch, and access to special entrances. The event will partner with Geoff Keighley to enhance the experience.
