Fifth Harmony will perform as a foursome for the first time at the 2017 People’s Choice Awards.
Ally Brooke (23), Normani Kordei (20), Dinah Jane (19) and Lauren Jauregui (20) are booked to perform at the 2017 People’s Choice Awards at the Jan. 18 show. They will perform for the first time as a foursome after their fifth member, Camilla Cabello, left the group on Dec. 19 last year.
The girl group is nominated this year for a Favorite Group award. Their last performance with all five members of the group was for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. The group performed some of their biggest hits: “Work from home”, “That’s my girl” and “Worth It”. This show was pre-recorded in November, as Camilla Cabello left the group a month later.
Fifth Harmony announced Dec. 19 at midnight on their official Twitter profile that Camila Cabello is leaving Fifth Harmony. The post was signed by Ally, Normani, Dinah and Lauren saying:
“After four and a half years of being together, we have been informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony. We wish her well. You Harmonizers have been there with us since the beginning, you have supported us, you have rejoiced and cried with us, you have grown with us, and with your love and support, we will continue on. That being said, we are excited to announce that we will be moving forward with the four of us – Ally Brooke, Normani, Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui for our fans. We are for strong, committed women who will continue with Fifth Harmony as well as our solo endeavors. We are excited about our future and we can’t wait for what the new year brings.”
Days before the group announced the Camila is leaving the group, Fifth Harmony revealed they are working on their third album for Billboard. But the album, and any other future Fifth Harmony’s plans will have to carry on without a fifth member.
Fifth Harmony won their first award at the People’s Choice Award event last year for favorite group. The group is nominated again in the same category this year. Normani Kordei, Lauren Jauregui, Dinah Jane and Ally Brooke shared their first group photo without Camilla on their facebook page with a simple caption “Twenty Seventeen”.
People’s Choice Awards: Taking Sides in Fifth Harmony Drama
The Golden Globes may have been the start of the 2017 awards season, but the People’s Choice Awards is really trying to prove its relevancy by officially taking sides in the Fifth Harmony vs. Camilla Cabello drama. The Fifth Harmony girls confirmed the rumors on their Instagram profile. This means Camilla will have to book something way bigger to compete with her former bandmates.
The 2017 People’s Choice Awards will air live Jan. 18 on CBS at 9 p.m. ET and the ceremony will be hosted by Joel McHale. Voting for the awards show has closed for most categories. You can still vote for favorite TV comedy, TV drama and other categories here.
